In My Little Corner of the World

I have help when I'm beading.... Fergus (my Cairn Terror (oops! Terrier) has a facination with lights. So whenever I turn on my lamps to bead, he goes into his "looking for lights" madness. See pictures......

I wanted to show where I do all my beading.... (see pic) A very small space. My husband has twice the space and only spends a few hours a week at his table. I know, I know, quit your whining! It actually is plenty of space. If I had more room, I'd probably just use it all up and want more.

On the days that I take Fergie for a walk, I've noticed some little green plants beginning to stick their little heads up to see if it's warm enough yet. I even have daffodils coming up! I can't wait for Spring!

Whoa! Do we have snow or what?

We only started to shovel our way out of the snow this afternoon. Hopefully, we'll be able to get out tomorrow. We are both suffering from "cabin fever". The mailman didn't even come today. Now that's bad when the US Postal Service doesn't show up!

Artic Blizzard in Oregon

Right now we have a total blizzard in our area. This snow storm has been going on for 4 or 5 days now, off and on. Getting houseitis. Haven't stepped outside the door today. Took some pictures from the front door and windows. I was raised in Illinois and learned to drive in the snow there, but out here it is very different!

Daughters & Granddaughters

I can't believe what creative women there are in my family. My first daughter now has her own website on Etsy.com -- Juniper Gems. She not only an accomplished and creative cook, but now designs the most beautiful jewelry also.

My daughter-in-law (my only one) has always sewed as long as I have known her, but in the last year or two has opened her own fabric shop online at www.fabritopia.com and designs her own patterns. She does all this and homeschools 4 of her 5 children!

My second daughter just moved all the way across the country from Oregon to Pennsylvania when her husband had a promotion with his company. She is an accomplished cook also and works very hard as an insurance claims adjuster. Her strengths are interior decorating and gardening.

The sunset picture is taken from our deck this past September. We are blessed!

So you can see I have a very creative family.

How do they make Lampwork beads?

Since going to the Bead Bazaar in Portland, I've become interested in Lampwork beads and how they are made. They are so gorgeous and facinating. I did a little research online and found a website that gives a little information on how they are created: http://www.lampwork-beads.org. When I have more information I'll do another post for anyone that's looking.

Speaking of the Lampwork Beads I was so interested in
